Event Info
Deepavali, also known as Diwali, is a festival that celebrates the triumph of good over evil, light over darkness, and knowledge over ignorance. The word "Deepavali" comes from the Sanskrit language and translates to "row of lights". The festival is celebrated by Hindus around the world, as well as Indians of other religions, such as Sikhs and Jains.
The festival lasts for five days and includes festive gatherings, fireworks displays, feasts, and prayer. Celebrants light rows of traditional clay oil lamps outside their homes to symbolize the festival's themes.
