Hari Merdeka (Independence Day)
Every year on August 31st, Malaysians around the world proudly celebrate Hari Merdeka (National Day)—a day that commemorates the nation's independence on August 31, 1957 and honors the courage, unity, and resilience that have shaped Malaya and Malaysia. It is a time to reflect on our shared heritage, cherish the bonds that unite us, and celebrate the vibrant multicultural spirit that makes Malaysia so special.
